Day 1: Haridwar – Sitapur (Shivalik Valley Resort)(238Km/8-9 Hrs)
The journey to Kedar valley will commence from Haridwar where you will meet our representative in the morning, who will be charged for the entire journey from Haridwar to Sitapur. While on the way you can witness the scenic and breathtakingly beautiful Rudraprayag Sangam of Alaknanda River and Mandakini The river which is truly a sight to behold. You will reach Sitapur by the evening where a comfortable and relaxing stay with Shivalik Valley Resort will be waiting for you. Shivalik Valley Resorts will also put in their efforts to make your stay culturally enriching also through various activities like, Folk Dance of Garhwal, Folk music, Authentic cuisines, Bone fire and also a taste of the local living by the local people just so you feel a little more connected.
Day 2: Day Excursion to Chopta (75km/3-4hrs)
Day 2 will start with breakfast to pump up and get energized for the adventurous trek. You will then proceed towards Ukhimath, which is the winter adobe of Kedarnath. This small town can be used as the central destination point to visit several other places which are located nearby. Ukhimath is a religiously rich town and is also the origin of several mythological stories.
After reaching Ukhimath, you will then start off your trek to Chopta, also famously known as the Mini Switzerland of India.
Chopta is located at an altitude of 2680 mts, (8,790 ft) above sea level. It is a part of the Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary located in Uttarakhand state. It is also the starting base point for trekking to Tungnath, which is the third temple of Panch Kedar. Tungnath has situated 3.5 km from Chopta. Furthermore, the trek extends till Chandrashila which is 1.5 km from Tungnath, rising to over 13000 ft.
Chopta is an untouched, picturesque, natural gem of Uttarakhand which is yet unexplored by many travelers making it a unique and fresh travel destination. Far away from the hustle of city life, Chopta takes you on a beautiful, refreshing stroll around the snow-laden mountains. The resplendent beauty of Chopta is enclosed by lush greenery, pines, deodars, rhododendrons which makes Chopta rich in Flora and Fauna.
After trekking back to the base Ukhimath, you will head back to Sitapur (Shivalik Valley Resort) for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Sitapur + Triyuginarayan Temple Darshan – Haridwar(238Km/8-9 Hrs)
Day 3 morning will be started with some fresh breakfast to get pumped for the day for exploration. This exploration day will be for visiting the world-famous Triyuginarayan temple is about half an hour’s drive from Sitapur. The first glimpse of the first thought after hearing about this temple is about the holy wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is also known by the name of the Trijugi Narayan temple. This will be an enriching day in terms of Hindu mythology and the several years old stories behind Triyuginarayan temple.
Triyuginarayan the temple is at an elevation of about 1,980 mts, offering a spectacular panoramic view of the snow-laden mountains of the Garhwal region. It is basically dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s Marriage took place in the presence of Lord Vishnu. It is also to be believed that he did all the wedding arrangements and also acted as and performed the duties as Goddess Parvati’s brother. So, this temple was made in his honor.
There are three sacred kunds namely: the Rudra Kund, Vishnu Kund and Brahma Kund on the front side of the temple. It is said that these kunds were the bathing spot for Gods. Several pilgrims opt for taking a dip in these kunds before entering the holy Triyuginarayan temple.
It is also known as the Akhand Dhuni temple, its believed that the same holy fire that witnessed Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s marriage, is still burning eternally in the Havan-Kund in front of the temple. Pilgrims donate pieces of wood to contribute to the eternally burning Havan-Kund and consider it highly sacred.
Apart from all the interesting mythological stories, you can also enjoy the serene and picturesque view that this temple offers. On your way back you will spot several shops that sell little souvenirs related to the temple, you can have some as a beautiful the memory of this magical place.
After the darshan, you will head back to Haridwar after completing this religiously enriching and fulfilling journey with everlasting memories and a wish to come back and make new ones.
