Day 1: Arriving at Haridwar
The starting point of the journey will be Haridwar. After your arrival at Haridwar, you will be provided with pre-booked comfortable accommodation. You cannot leave Haridwar without witnessing the culturally rich and beautifully executed aarti at Har-Ki-Pauri which is believed to be the place where the elixir of immortality Nector (Amrit) fell during Samundra Manthan. After the aarti, you can return to the hotel and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay and get ready and pumped up for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Haridwar – Sitapur (Shivalik Valley Resort) (238Km/8-9 Hrs)
Day 2 will start with an early morning breakfast. You will be checked out from the hotel and your departure to Sitapur will commence. On the way, You will also witness the exquisite and unbelievable Ruderpriyag Sangam of Alaknanda River and Mandakini River which is a sight to behold. After reaching Sitapur, your overnight stay will be organized at the most recommended and best hotel in Sitapur – Shivalik Valley Resort. Evening at Shivalik Valley resort will include our cultural touch i.e, Folk Dance of Gadhwal followed by authentic dishes, music, and bonfire to make the ambiance more enriching. We will make our maximum efforts make your stay as comfortable as possible with a pinch of cultural and authentic elements.
Day 3: Day Excursion to Chopta (75km/3-4hrs)
Day 3 will start with breakfast to pump up and get energized for the adventurous trek. You will then proceed towards Ukhimath, which is the winter adobe of Kedarnath. This small town can be used as the central destination point to visit several other places which are located nearby. Ukhimath is a religiously rich town and is also the origin of several mythological stories.
After reaching Ukhimath, you will then start off your trek to Chopta, also famously known as the Mini Switzerland of India. Chopta is located at an altitude of 2680 mts, (8,790 ft) above sea level. It is a part of the Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary located in Uttarakhand state. It is also the starting base point for trekking to Tungnath, which is the third temple of Panch Kedar. Tungnath has situated 3.5 km from Chopta. Furthermore, the trek extends till Chandrashila which is 1.5 km from Tungnath, rising to over 13000 ft.
Chopta is an untouched, picturesque, natural gem of Uttarakhand which is yet unexplored by many travelers making it a unique and fresh travel destination. Far away from the hustle of city life, Chopta takes you on a beautiful, refreshing strolls around the snow-laden mountains. The resplendent beauty of Chopta is enclosed by lush greenery, pines, deodars, rhododendrons which makes Chopta rich in Flora and Fauna.
After trekking back to the base Ukhimath, you will head back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Day Excursion to Deoria tal hike(58km/2-3hrs)
Day 4 will start with breakfast at the hotel which will be followed by a picturesque drive to the Sari village. It will be the starting base point for the Deoria Tal Hike. It is situated about 3 Kms from Sari village at an altitude of 2,438 mts. Deoria Tal is untouched by commercialization and traffic hiccups. This gorgeous translucent lake offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Cahukhamba, Neelkanth, Banderpunch, Kedar range, and the Kalanag peaks.
The lake is situated amidst lush greenery and dense trees, providing the visitors a soothing scenic sight to behold. According to Hindu mythology, the “Devas” used this beautiful lake for bathing. It is the same place where Yaksha asked some questions from the Pandavas before letting them consume the water of this lake. This becomes a must-visit spot because of the easy accessibility and the scenic view it offers. It’s a perfect start for beginner trekkers. Deoria Tal is a habitat of various species of birds and animals. It will be a treat for the bird watchers also.
Coming back to Sari village, you can also walk through the daily chores of the villagers and learn about their culture and customs. After this enriching experience, you will head back to the hotel for some rest and sound sleep.
Day 5: Sitapur – Joshimath (170Km/6-7 Hrs)
After having breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and head towards Joshimath (via Chopta). The sacred town of Joshimath is situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The idol of Lord Badri is brought down to Joshimath’s Vasudev temple from Badrinath temple in the winter season. It becomes the home for Lord Badri in winters. This sacred town is religiously rich and has so many mythological stories attached to every corner making your experience enriched with the divine positive energy. Apart from the Vasudev temple, other major attractions are a temple dedicated to Narashima, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Also, there are temples dedicated to Ganesha, Hanuman, and Gaurishankar.
The government has also introduced a Winter Char Dham Yatra making Joshimath a must-visit tourist spot. There will again be an overnight stay before heading to Auli the next day.
Day 6: Day Excursion to Auli
After having breakfast, you will head to Auli for a fun-filled adventurous day. Auli is also known as the skiing destination of India due to its world-class skiing facilities. It is also known as Auli Bugyal. There is no scarcity of natural beauty in Auli. It is enriched with breathtaking and spellbinding views and is enclosed with oak forests and snow-covered mountains. Auli has been blessed by the visit of Shankaracharya. Main tourist attractions in Auli include artificial lakes, sacred temples, Nanda Devi National Park, trekking spots that make for an adventurous trip.
Auli is the most surreal tourist destination in winters, existing amidst the beauty of all things natural, almost like a white winter wonderland. The untouched snow trails in Auli will make it your most unique, beautiful and satiating travel experience. It can also be a feast for all the travel bloggers and photographers because of the magic that Auli is.
You can also opt for a trek to Gurson Bugyal for witnessing a 360-degree view of the beautiful Garhwal Mountains. So basically, Auli is not just another destination but an experience. After exploring Auli, you will head back to the hotel and start off a new journey, the next day.
Day 7: Joshimath – Srinagar( Maletha)(150km/5-6Hrs)
After having breakfast, you will proceed towards Maletha which is a small town situated 5kms from Srinagar. Maletha is the village of the braveheart Madho Singh Bhandari who was responsible for drawing the international boundary between India and Tibet which is known as the Mac-Mohan line.
The other famous story related to this village was that Madho Singh had to sacrifice his son Gaje Singh in order to please the Goddess for a smooth flow of water to his village which was being hitched even after several attempts of Madho Singh and the villagers to bring water to the tunnel in their village.
In his respect and honor, there is a big statue of Madho Singh with a digging toll on his shoulder, where the people of Maletha worship him. In the evening, you will be dropped at the reserved hotel.
Day 8: Maletha – Rishikesh(115 Km/3-4 Hrs)
After having breakfast, you will head to Rishikesh. You can also visit the famous Chandrabadni temple on the way which includes a small 1 km hike. Chandrabadni temple is one of the Shakti Peeths and also the holy shrine of Goddess Sati. Since the temple is at such a great height, you can enjoy the scenic and spectacular 360-degree view of the Garhwal and Himalayan peaks. Chandrabadni Temple is the place where Goddess Sati’s torso fell while Lord Shiva was taking away her burned body.
After visiting the holy shrine, you will be taken to the reserved hotel for some rest and ready for the departure day.
Day 9: Departure
The last day will get started with some fresh breakfast. You will be checked out from the hotel and dropped at the Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey, back home.
